CFSs.
- RAIL ADVANTAGE
- ICD at Melpakkam is just 2 ½ Kilometers from Arakkonam junction which is the nerve center of railway activities for southern India and also linking various Indian railway zones like , north , west and south. With effect from 28-10-2005, Melpakkam Station on Arakkonam-Katpadi Section is opened for Goods traffic for both wagonload and trainload. Now the cargo from Chennai port can directly be moved to our Sattva ICD at Arakkonam vice-versa, by rail.
- We have recently signed a JV with SICAL Group for movement of containers to and fro Chennai Port Trust to Arakkonam. By this, we can move the containers by rail which will avoid road congestion to Chennai Container Terminal, Chennai Port.
- Since Government of Tamil Nadu is interested in reducing the road congestion connecting Chennai Port Trust and on their advice, the facility is being developed. With SMART - Sical Rail Network we run regular Container services to Delhi, Mundra, Bangalore, etc.
